Headliner Question

When you install a new headliner, do you use adhesive, or just the trim to hold it up? My Super looks like the factory may have used adhesive originally.

Re: Headliner Question

I use adhesive to hold the liner in place before attaching the trim.

Re: Headliner Question

you'll have to use adhesive, the trim will only hold it for a few days alone.

Re: Headliner Question

I used 3m adhesive on the back side of the liner & the roof side. I then took a piece of plywood the size of the headliner, & use that to push up on the liner. I also took a length of 2/4 and put it up against the plywood and then wedged it firmly to the floor to keep pressure on the headliner until the adhesive dried, (overnight).

Re: Headliner Question

While on the subject... did all trucks come with one, or was that an option? Mine came to me without one, but it doesnt have a single mark on the roof, either....

No, only uplevel trucks like CST's, Grande Sierras, and Cheyennes, etc. got them. They do a pretty good job of cutting down on the "tin can-ness" (is that a word?) of inside the cab. I have thought about putting Dynamat under one for even more sound deadening.

Re: Headliner Question

i used 2" wide Velcro with the glued back, in case I need to remove it.

It has been in for about a year and a half and is holding great.

Re: Headliner Question

Let me high jack and ask another question along this headliner question. Is it possible to get the original chrome trim off these trucks without breaking all the plastic tabs? And do the repo's come with the tabs or are they universal so it doesn't take all the cab roof panel holes to hold them up? Thanks. Mark
