I just installed this cowl being sold by Tony (mgtp001@gmail.com). It bolted right up and fits nice. He eliminated the 1/2 bolt holes on the upper fenders for a cleaner look (didn't get that pic) and it still fits tight with the remaining bolts/screws. I imagine you could simply drill out if you wanted.
Very pleased

I think the price is around $225 plus shipping.

PS - noticed the 2 holes in upper firewall for the windshield washer spray hoses, seems you could add a row of these for air to get inside the cowl/cab for air A/C..

Next is to shave is the gas cap and side markers... should be simpler with Infiniti's metal templates.

You mentioned cutting some holes for the A/C.....won't that defeat the purpose in having a shaved cowl?

I'm gettin' mine shaved and plan to rout the air to the plenum with flex hoses, like my old '56 Merc had for the "Fresh Air" heater system. But not routing outside air to the heat/ac unit will just have it recirculate the air that is heated or cooled, which should make the heating or cooling more efficient by not introducing hot air to an A/C unit, or cold air to a heater. If you need to add fresh air, just crack open a vent window.

My dad had a '59 Ford with a recirculating heater because he was too tight to ante up for the fresh air unit back when it was a new car. When he needed to clear the windows, he opened the vent window or cracked the door windows. It's what I do on my school bus, too.

But I wouldn't cut a hole in a $225 glass cowl.....

I have Vintage Air so no problems for me.
There was talk of the need to replace the air that comes from the cowl vents. I just saw those two holes and thought it would be an option to add more for those that want a smooth cowl but still want air to come into the cowl.

I think he is a member of the board. He's put a lot of work into these, told me he has, like, a dozen metal cowls that he used to make it as accurate as possible (there are very slight differences between stock cowls),
There is no warranty but it seems Tony is trying his best to make a good product and even called me to ask if I was happy with it and any suggestions. If you had a problem I'm sure he'd try to make it right. He's one guy, not part of some big company (hopefully he won't get too swamped with requests and you can get one as quick as I did).
It is fiberglass so you can't just torque down the bolts like metal but it's not necessary to do so. It's pretty thick and not too flimsy.,, For the price, lack of hassle and ease of install it's not a bad deal I think.

I think you mis-understood what he was saying. I read the post a couple of times & I think he meant put the holes in the firewall not in the cowl panel.

That's ok grendel i understand i am the same type of goober! i still wonder if this is a lighter product than the original?? overall i am guessing that to do any type of "body" work on the original ot look anything like this would be more then the price of this plus your original body work plans....

I'd rather have the metal one from Tri-Pro. As far as weight savings, it ain't like most of you guys are road racing anyway. So why is a few measly pounds going to matter? And if it did matter, you need to cut weight everywhere else too, i.e, the motor, body panels, rear end, etc.
