Post Question on NHRA rules about driveshaft loop

Where are you supposed to play the driveshaft safety loop? I thought there was a certain distance it has to be from rear differential but I am not sure what it is. Anyone knows or knows of a site...let me know..thanks!

Witha 2 pce shaft, I have no idea.
With a one pce shaft, 6 inches from the Tranny. It don't much matter id it comes off in the back. They are worried about doing a pole volt thing at 1/2 track.

i would think same distance from front of the rear shaft where it slides onto the end of the front shaft, on some 4 speed models that is, i think there is a factory loop on the 81 cutlass, was gonna rob it off the 79 de ville but forgot to before the roll back hauled it off.. i want ot instlal on under front of rear half under the 71,

good luck

must be 6 inches from back of tranny, needed if you go 13.99 or quicker on slicks or 13.00 or quicker on street tires. my local track didn't tell me that about the street tires, they assumed i was putting slicks on after tech inspection, but its not a bad idea to have one anyway. Devin
