Broke my hard top off

Went out wheeling this weekend, flexed it hard enough to pull the bolts out of all the driver side of the single wall top. cracked the drivers bottom rail and almost popped the side window out. it was flexing so much you could feel the back of the seat getting closer the steering wheel. I guess its time to box the frame and cage it...lol
I guess no rocker boxes do make a diff

Re: Broke my hard top off

I'd fix the rocker boxes before you box the frame. It might be time to start looking for a soft top too.

Where's the picture?

Re: Broke my hard top off

Your suspension isn't flexing much from the sound of it.

A roll bar or cage would go along way to help as well and might just be the best idea if your gonna wheel it hard.

Bummer about the single walled top though...

Re: Broke my hard top off

The soft top Gods are calling. That sucks, but I hope you enjoyed it.By the sounds of it,something else may have given if you had the torque boxes in.They do alot for what they are. But,I`m sure the kind of wheeling we do these days would fall under the "Void Warranty" category back when these trucks were young.
Can it be fixed, you think?Never to where it could take serious flex, but at least to salvage another single wall for a pretty boy.
