Nice '68 stepside,... But how original is it?

I found this on the Kansas City craigslist. Some things seem weird. Like side trim on a stepside? And the small back window? Some of the gurus step up and tell me if this truck is correct. Here it is: http://kansascity.craigslist.org/car/623889957.html

Looks great! But I have never heard of a small back window 68....Not saying there wasn't but I have never heard of one. Maybe some of the experts can tell you..

those "original wheels" aren't right, the trim isn't right, untill someone shows an original unrestored 68 with a small back window, I'm stickin with what all the books say... the back window(cab) isn't right.
Nice lookin truck, but not original as claimed.

That's what I thought. I assumed that it's been "pieced" together. BUT,... they ended up with a really nice truck. Just different.

I agree, nice truck but not a true 68, nicely pieced together.

Small pics formy eyes,but...
Were `68 CST interiors painted to match vinyl?Did `68s come with deluxe side lenses?
Definately no dual exhaust but w/396.
I hate to knock such a sweet truck.Nothing was done that I wouldn`t do.I guess it`s another case of critqueing a description,though.

Re: Nice '68 stepside,... But how original is it?

May be an original truck, just not manufactured and assembled by Chevrolet division of General Motors. Check the Vin plate verses the block numbers and the vin # stamped into the frame next to the power steering pump. There are a lot of differences between 67-68 like power steering design, dash knobs, vent window levers. You can put a 67 cab on a 68 frame pretty easy just like removing and replacing the vin tag with a 68. Still a nice truck BUT way misrepresented.
