so in 60, was it an aluminum grille, or were they steel?

Jon,

Here is what I can tell you about the 61 grill which is very close to the 60 except didn't have the Chevrolet embossed on the lower portion of the grill. It was a seperate piece. Anyhow that one looks great and they are metal plated with chrome. That one does look good. Any chrome shop worth anything can do minor repairs and straighten out minor dents. I expect it will got for between 150 -200 it's a good looking grill...

Mine is chrome plated steel but it doesn't say CHEVROLET like the one on Ebay

so maybe it was 63 that they switched to aluminum?
fuel pump, do you think yours is a 61 with a 60 center, I had been thinking of that as a way to shave the chevrolet letters.

I was told its a 60 but I don't know that for certain.

I thought I could see Chevrolet on your grill and I blew it up. It says Chevrrolet. Am I wrong? optical illusion maybe.... lower grill rail...

1960's came with aluminum polished grill ( rare and expensive) or a steel white painted grill.

Yup you are correct. I went out in the storage shed and looked. I don't have the grill on the truck and really never looked at it that closely before. This is the grill that I use.

I have an aluminum 64-66 grill and a chrome one also. The chrome one is not original and the aluminum one is.
