Camper Cruiser emblems????????????

What are these? This is the third truck I have seen with them. This one is a 67 GMC 3/4T Custom (CST) model.
They even have a cast # on the back that looks like a GM #3499587.

Re: Camper Cruiser emblems????????????

Frank...I saw one at Monroe last year as well. I saw them on a GMC fender as well. I, however, resisted the temptation to buy it...LOL!

Year: 1968 (Item #B12546) - Photo 1
GMC (Camper Cruiser and Handi-Bus): Press release, 11x9. Two 8x10 press photos show three-quarter frontal views of the GMC Camper Cruiser with slide-on camper and Handi-Bus. Comes with two pages of press release information which was stapled to photos. Price: $30.
Above from a GMC literature website. Before you flame me...the photo was of a very blurry press release, not a truck.

Re: Camper Cruiser emblems????????????

Tim, as far qas the location on those two trucks, both had been repainted, so there's no tellin what's right.
Acording to someone on one of those links... it could be had regardless of engine size or type.

Re: Camper Cruiser emblems????????????

'67 only, both U.S. and Canada. The U.S. Camper Cruiser could be had with either the 305 or 351 V-6 plus the straight 6's, the Canadian versions had Chevy 327's. Possible some late '67 U.S. Camper Cruisers had 327's too, but I have never seen one. In '68, they became 'Camper Custom'.
