Re: got the new gas tank

I picked it up from lmc truck for 173.00 tank and shipping everything i've done and seen says all i have to do is remove the old filler tube from the old tank to the new tank but like anything else it proboably won't work that way.

Re: got the new gas tank

When I got my new tank of course it wouldn't fit so I took it and had the old neck soldered onto the new tank - got home and the darn thing still wouldn't fit.

Broke out the hack saw and cut the old neck off the new tank and used a piece of 1 3/8" fuel hose to attach my old neck to the short fitting on the new tank. The portion I cut off the old filler neck is about 1 1/2" behind that little tab that you see on the side of the filler neck that is used to secure the smaller vent line. For reference, you can see how I folded that tab flat in the pics of the tank installed.

Here are a couple pics of the old tank and the new tank

Here are a couple pics to show how I used the old tank's filler neck. About a 4" piece of hose goes from the new tanks existing filler neck and attaches to the bent piece that I cut off my old tank, then it connects to the long piece that will go up the side of the Blazer.

Hope this info helps you with your tank.

Where did you find 1 3/8ths fuel line? All I could find was 1 1/2.

Re: got the new gas tank

A local industrial rubber hose supply company had it in stock and in a fuel grade.

Re: got the new gas tank

It's 1 3/8" and napa has it straight peices. If you go to a super flex hose all I have found is 1 1/4" and 1 1/2". Some guys had luck with the marine stuff. But they don't have boats where I live. -Jason.
