Those F@rd Mirrors

I need to put some mirrors on the Blazer. I've decided on the f@rd swing aways from the mid-80's and early 90's. Where have ya'll bought yours? I'd like to get some quality ones. I called the local ford dealership and they don't have any.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Those F@rd Mirrors

I have seen them on truck accessory websites.

You might try 1A.com.

I had a set on my '72 GMC back in the 80's that I used to tow a cabin cruiser type boat and they worked real well. I picked them up real cheap at a flea market in California.

Hopefully some one else will chime in.

I drive a 91' F$(#D Ranger and you can buy replacement break-away style mirrors at O'Reily's for like $11 a piece. At least you could about a year ago when i replaced mine. They have a tendancy to wear out and collapse inward at highway speed from the wind drag.

Re: Those F@rd Mirrors

They are all over ebay, but if I'm putting holes in the door, I want to do it just once. I'd like to get a high quality mirror. I've noticed some are $70 a pair while others are cheaper. I don't mind paying more, but I want to make sure the quality is there.

Re: Those F@rd Mirrors

I was thinking about ones Like these .

I kind of think truck would look better with the larger mirrors. But I do like those black and chrome ones.

Peeps on a T-bucket, ok. Truck, no. They have turned into a "me too" accessory. And the pencil post/ ball socket Furrd mirrrors always go to floppin. Plus they scream "what's wrong here". But if you are set on them, I wouldn't buy any without getting my hands on them first to see if they seem worth a darn.

The Grote tripod "kinda OE looking" mirrors are a joke too. They flop in the breeze like flags.

Re: Those F@rd Mirrors

Well I was originally going to go for the original sport mirrors, but the wife said a truck that size wouldn't look right without bigger mirrors. Now I'm torn. I'm with you on the quality thing.
I'm towing with it this week and I've got those clamp on fender mirrors going strong. I just wanted to order some before I leave tomorrow so I could have them to put on when I returned. Keep coming with the ideas and opinions. Gotta love the board!

Re: Those F@rd Mirrors

Has anyone tried mounting these mirrors on to a 67-72 Chevy?
