My Trucks When I Bought Them
I got my`72 K2500 in `01.These are two pictures I took before it made it to my house. They were taken under lights outside a place I stopped at.Not much, but it`s how it was when i found it.Not that I`ve really changed it.
The `72 K/20 I had delivered and these are the first pics I took of it in my driveway just as it was when I bought it.

Re: My Trucks When I Bought Them
Love that white Sierra. Beautiful. I think I'll paint my truck white when it's time.

Re: My Trucks When I Bought Them
`63,John.I bought that for my fiance turned wife turned X.yYeah, you`re not the only one with the sickness.
The trucks are thinnin` these days.Never thought I`d see the day.I`m not done.My life`s just kinda adjusting itself these days. Here`s a real crappy shot (only one I took...Polaroid) of a`72 K/10 CustomDeluxe I had until I found the `71 Suburban I had.Which I have absolutely no pictures of...ever.It never occured to me 1/2 the time to get pictures of my stuff.I sure started 10 or more years back.

I was never one for taking pictures either. I wish sometimes I had taken some and kept a log of the trucks I've owned over the years. Heck

Re: My Trucks When I Bought Them
Hey Chip, that`s great.I really like the second "bringing it home" pic. That thing was a great find.Where were you?Is that a nut or fruit grove?
I`d love to see anyone else`s shots coming home with the booty. Yeah Paul, straight out of Modesto.I stopped in WVA about an hour from home for a bite and a beer to settle my frazzled nerves.I slept in that thing a few nights at truck stops.Emptied the three tanks many times. I stopped once in Ohio at a Hubcap place right off I-70 to stretch my legs.I asked if he might by chance have any 3/4t GMC caps and he checked his stock. He came back with 1 beauty.I popped it right on and drove off smilin`.

Re: My Trucks When I Bought Them
Nice bunch of trucks K. I wish I had taken more pictures back when.
You seem to be a lot like me did ever think about pictures until I found this place. No one else carried about them like I did. Thanks for the pictures

Re: My Trucks When I Bought Them
I do miss the rivvy.I must have bumped my head.It was and unrestored low mile car.
About pictures, alot of people used to make you feel dumb taking pictures of your car...how rediculous. You weren`t supposed to love them that much or something. That, and you just took it for granted.Even if you intended to get pictures you may miss the chance due to accidents, deterioration,or just selling them.I`ve taken alot of pictures just before they went down the road as a last chance.I`ve also lost alot of pictures over the years.I just went and scanned alot of old pictures onto a cd and that`s where these came from. It`s like getting new trucks again. My first`72 pickup was a real nice shortbed from the OK Used Car Lot in`73.I got t-boned and totalled it about a year after I bought it.No pictures, just memories. Here`s a blazer I had about 25 years ago.It came from New Mexico and the owners didn`t understand what rust was. They discovered Assategue Island and got sand all up everywhere which hels moisture and road salt... Here`s one I restored and this is the only picture that I ever took.It was at Carlisle Trucks where I sold it.The plan was to restore the red orange K/20 for a nice matched pair.Never happened...

Yes -- the rest of us are living vicariously through his photos. It takes a lot to keep one stock Perhaps you would like this better? has some cool trucks in it

Re: My Trucks When I Bought Them
52 ain`t anywhere near old.Just ask an old man and he`ll tell ya the same.Old is when you can`t do things you did when you were young anymore.I still can, only better.I`m in my prime the way I look at it.
But yes,I guess it is reminising by me and a couple others. That`s what pictures are for.Mostly,I just scanned alot of pictures onto disc so for the first time I can post them up.If you`ve followed the thread it`s gone from showing some pics of trucks as they were when I first got them,to a request for pics of another truck,to talking about not getting pictures of our rides,to others showing trucks when they first got them,to last shots before they were gone, and finally having to explain the whole thing to you which I`ll follow up with a so as to not offend you.

Re: My Trucks When I Bought Them
Tim, is that 15x8 Steel on the shortbed? I like. The reason we stopped next to that orchard was across the street. I think they were nut trees. This is what we saw across the street. First pic is of my Dad and the Camel smiling. Could not believe how many different types of animals these people had. There were Zebras too.

Re: My Trucks When I Bought Them
Wow!Nuts on one side and a private zoo on the other.
Yes,those are 8x15s.Other than restoring, they were the only thing I added (and 2" lift). That truck had a few nice options. It had a 292,4spd,3.73s,posi,and tach.I wish I still had it(where have I heard that before?).It seemed pretty good on gas.
