Good looking truck, I voted to tint, by the way, what kind of paint and color to get that finish? Thanks Greg

Re: I need some opinions
for custom trucks like yours I like tinting, for stock trucks I think I like clear better.

Re: I need some opinions
I’m real picky about tint; my advice would be to check out all the tints available. Get the one that offers the most heat rejection in the shade you want. (Limo tint will actually make it hotter inside).
I like a warranty against everything, including fading. Lumar (sp?) had one of the highest heat rejections with warranty against everything, but that was over 15 years ago too. (I’m sure there are better tents now.) You’ll want to check the shops installation (look at the cars not photos). You are looking for any tiny white specks on the glass. That’s dirt between the film, and you want to avoid it as much as possible. Next look at their trim skills, tight gaps, and on cars with curved windows are the overlaps visible etc.? A good tint person will be able to hide the lines and leave you with a nice job. (Our trucks have flat glass so no overlap lines are necessary.) You are going to pay good money for this, so do your homework and get it done right! There was a shop in TX that did the work in a clean room and only used filtered water to apply the film. That was some of the nicest I’ve seen. IMO stay away from the low price places- they take all the short cuts. Let us know what film you used when you’re done, I just might do mine! s/t

Re: I need some opinions
You live in Phoenix? By all means, tint! Our trucks were made to be driven, and tint will make driving much more comfortable. BTW, the truck looks great.

Re: I need some opinions
My first choice is would be to find original green tint factory glass, but for a truck like yours. I say pick a shade that best goes with that killer paint scheme and tint away

Re: I need some opinions
I vote for tint, I like a light shade of black on these trucks. I would be weary about the wing window though.

Re: I need some opinions
Tint that truck.
If you do it yourself, and you can, take the windows all the way out of the truck and work on a nice clean surface. If you do, you will be very successful. Patience and attention to detail are very important. The wing windows on this truck will come out of their frame. If you don't take them out, they are huge pain, and very difficult to get clean in the corner. The tint won't stick there as a result, and will flap loose in the wind.

Thank you guys for all of the advice and compliments on my truck! I agree, I think I will tint it once I find the tint I like. I had my wife's trunk tinted with a tint that resist's heat or blocks heat....something like that. If you put a heat gun on the outside of the window you cant feel the heat coming through the window... Maybe I'll post some progress photos as I'm doig the tint, but definitly some before and after photos! EDIT: WOW, 26 votes and only 11 posts.... Thank you for voting and we appreciate your support (This ad paid for by the Houp tint ad council and I approve this message)

Re: I need some opinions
I bought grey tint glass. No film tint the windows are made with the smoke grey tint in them. I love'um. I had tint on my old ones and after a few years well they just didn't hold up.

Re: I need some opinions
Doesn't matter.... that looks awesome either way!
Having said that, pick what would be most comfortable to you inside. I think a light tint would look good as the paint is a flat. Blacked out would stand out too much from the flat paint.
