1997 6.5 Diesel Auto, any issues?

A friend of mine is selling his 1997 6.5 Turbo diesel 4x4. It's an ext cab short box with an automatic and 225,000km on it. The truck is visually flawless, and has seen purely highway miles as a commuter to and from work. I've heard a lot of horror stories about this series of engine, and was wondering what to believe. A lot of people call them "Time Bombs" as apparently they blow up frequently????? There are a lot of these trucks on the road, so in my opinion they can't be that bad, and this one has been well maintained and comes with all the maintenance and service records. I will be using it as a daily driver, and not as a heavy hauler or off road vehicle or anything, so any help at all would be great. Thanks!
