Advise? Heater won't work!!
I recently got a '71 lwb and I can't get the heater to work, all the cables are attached to the panel, I tried to remove the box inside the engine comparment but is glued shut some wires in the firewall on the driver's side are cut, is it possible that I'm not getting any power to heater, how do I find out?? any advise will be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Make a trouble light out of a trailer tail light or something to that effect? Atleast you will know if you have power or not? Or break down and get a good meter?

Paul,
Make sure the orange wire on the passenger side is plugged in under the hood to the box. Also check the plugs under the dash and follow them. Make sure all the wires are attached and not cut. The wires run from the back of the heater switch to behind the glovebox. Take out the glovebox liner so you can see them.

when you push the heater control to the on posistion, you should be able to hear the blower motor turn on was the truck sitting for a long period of time? if so, and if the blower motor turns on, then you may have a huge pile of mouse nest in the heater "ducts" on the truck, therefore causing no heat to come out of the vents

Does the fan not blow, or is it only cold air ? Heater core may be plugged, may have to take it out, or at least blow it out. chevy4ever is right, criters love to nest in there
