New U Joints
Well i put new Ujoints today, i removed the originals, yes originals from 85. they wernt all that bad but i figure after 18 years, the truck deserved new ones. i have changed them before and just beat on them untill the plastic that is poured in them just broke loose, but i guess i am getting old and lazy, i didnt want to beat on them as i had to before , so i tried heating them with a torch and the plastic just started oozing out like a worm. the way i could tell when it was clear enough they would pop real loud. then they just knocked right out. i also put the drop shackles back on, i kinda missed it sitting like that. maybe it will get me in gear to get the 2 in drop coils. (I GOTTA CONVINCE THE WIFE)

Yep, Jeff is correct. The plastic is poured in from the factory. They don't have the metal clip holding the cups in.
When I done mine, I read a article somewhere on heating them with a torch to get the plastic out. One thing though, it will scare the crap out of you when the grease gets hot and starts popping.
