R134 Conversion
Has anybody attempted an R12 to R134 conversion on their trucks? An unexpected leak several years back finally made me stop using R12 in my 66's factory system due to the high cost of R12.
It blew cold air before, but the airflow wasn't all that great and it sounded like hurricane. I had rebuilt the entire system with new components where needed and new gaskets in the airbox, etc. Anyway, I'm wondering how much less efficient the system will be if I convert. RB 276 is a direct drop in put in and go. Close to old R 12

R134 will result in a 10% drop in cooling ability. If you go that route, I would recommend a larger compressor, at the least.

When you switch to 134 you should replace all the seals in the system and I am not 100% sure, but I think that the connectors on the top of the compressor will need to be changed to a 134 style fitting. You might want to look that last part up to be sure
