where can i get one of these switchs new? its the switch inside the cab that lets u select between the 2 tanks.

From a GM dealer if nowhere else.
I bought one for my '86 GMC about a month ago.
NAPA or any other outlet might be cheaper though.

What year truck are you working with?
I made the mistake of buying two from the B&S forums here only to discover that both only worked for 1987 and newer (to 95?) trucks.
I am now stuck with two switches I can't use...

If your's is a crew cab then the one I listed above is the one you need. It's made by POLLAK same as the selector valve it controls. They're both still available from your local G.M. dealer as well.

Are you sure about that? It says carb and diesel applications? '89 would be TBI.

As far as the selector valve it self, I believe there is only 1 available anymore. Part number 14029228. This valve is the latest design that fits TBI gas and diesel as well as supersedes all older valves. I also believe it is intended to be used with switch D7003 (AC Delco part number). The AC Delco Part catalog shows these two items cover 1981-1991. I am sure it covers more years but their catalog only goes back to 1981 on many things.

I remember when I converted my truck over to the later design I needed both the selector valve and the dash switch. Finding the pig tail to plug into the selector valve is a PITA and not available through GM or the aftermarket that I could find anyway.
