working on the sway bar, wrong parts

I have another thread here on the sway bar on my 4x4. There has been some confusion om my part as to what factory brackets and years will fit.
Here is a crossmember that I had intended to use with the brackets.
The diference between this one and our trucks is the depth of the frame.
Our crossmember is just under 5" measured at the inside frame rails. This one measures 5" without the brackets. This one is designed so that the brackets go between the frame and crossmember and tie all three pieces together.
It might work if the crossmember were cut down a welded back together. I bet a plasma could cut out a slice above the lip and then the lip could be pushed up to the correct distance and welded back in. This member is also a little deeper. I think that would help with strength.

Maybe I will try it on the next frame.

Very beefy when assembled. See the diference in the black crossmember using the brackets and the one in my 72? Quite an offset to the other were the 72 is almost flat for mounting to the frame.
