My new baby....67

WOOOHOOOOO, I just did a PREVIEW POST and it worked....I can finally put pictures up of my new baby! Ok I got it 2 months ago but it took me this long to figure out how to post pictures! I hope it dont take me 20 yrs to build it.

Ok....I got this truck with the intent of just hooking up new ZZ4 motor, putting glass in, and driving it around but the more and more I read these "Projects/Builds" page, the more and more I want to tear it down to the frame and start fresh!

Ya'll like?

can anyone tell me if these are for our trucks?

AND does anyone know if this truck is on the forum?? I saw it on craigslist a while back.....SWEET TRUCK!!

Beautiful project. I know all of us here wish our trucks started out that clean. Great find, and looks like lots of fun.

Re: My new baby....67

it was painted 10 yrs ago but has been garaged here in CA the whole time...ZZ4 mtr was dropped in 3 yrs ago and never hooked up....I think I got a steal.

$4500 (engine is worth about that)

it included all new chrome, new single windows, new door panels, carpet, kicks, visors, seals, etc etc...

I looked at ALOTTA trucks and thought about buying something a little cheaper but figured once I did all that cutting and replacing I would be into it more than $4500 worth of time alone!

Thanks HoupPhotography but that AINT happenin!

I'm going to have to repaint it though, because I want to get rid of the side emblem holes, gas tank hole, there is a lil rust in the passenger side rocker....so yes it looks good now, but if I tear it down to the frame Ill have to repaint it......the PO took the time to strip the interior and paint but to bad not the engine bay.....

oh well, wouldnt be as much fun if it were done for me I guess....Im just happy it's not a wreck! Im a ROOK and I need to start small....

Get the thing running and driveable and go from there. It's a real clean truck. Save the complete redo for the next time.

Re: My new baby....67

get it driveable.... dont tear it down... if ur a ROOK.... if u leave it whole you are more likely to drive and enjoy it....... a complete tear down sometimes gets put on hold... and ends up being a heap in the corner....

Trailer it to the car wash, pressure wash it inside and out, put it together and drive it!!!! You can't imagine how much fun you'll have...... I would rather drive the white truck than anything I own and I have some pretty neat stuff.

Re: My new baby....67

your lower control arms...

i have them on mine - the company is no longer in business - i don't know why though - i have some literature if you need it

they will fit but were manufactured for 73-87 trucks - no big deal really because everyone does a front member swap to the 73-87 trucks for disc brakes

do you have the uppers? if you use them, don't buy dropped spindles. use shorter coils.

nice truck by the way

You got a bargain at that price. I gotta agree with what is being said about get it driveable and enjoy it. That truck doesn't need to be torn apart! Enjoy it for a few years, then later on you can take on the huge undertaking of tearing it apart if that still interest you.

I wish, that glass is just laying up there.....pictures are deceiving!

I have everything I need, the PO started the single door window conversion so I just need to finish it up...and put the front glass back in.

Re: My new baby....67

i agree drive it some, see what you like and what you don't. i'm sure there are things that you will want to change or that need attention. the onlyway to find out what is to drive it some, after a basic safty inspection, of course. just check out the brakes, stearing ,suspension and tires. and rock on. a lot can be done while you drive it. collect what you think it needs, then when your ready for paint disasemble it and give it hell to keep the down time to a minimun

That silver truck is "nasty" (that's a good thing, ) I love the exhaust out the side....I have some other pictures, I just wish I could find out who owned it so I can ask some stupid questions...
