71-72 inner grille paint

guys, i posted this in the paint section without much luck. 2 things, i have trouble seeing color, so what color is the inner grille for the 71-72's gray or silver? and second what would be a good rattle can brand and color to repaint? i picked up a good used inner grille and want to freshen it up, but get it as close to original as i can. thanks.

Dull Aluminum is pretty darn close to Argent Silver. Were the grills also Argent Silver originally? Mine looked to be a little darker than Argent.

I used Eastwoods "Silver Cad" on my truck grille. I was happy with the outcome...

I scuffed mine with a "Scotch Brite" Pad.

You actually have to paint it 8 times... 4 directions from the front and 4 directions from the rear to get good coverage. Light coats.

I used SEM Trim Black and it came out great I also prept it with a "Scotch Brite" Pad then just sprayed it with several coats on both sides first up in down the left to right the long way so I made sure to give it a even coat..

Re: 71-72 inner grille paint

I used Krylon Fusion for Plastic... prep work just like others have stated, and multi-pass, multi angle painting to get complete coverage.

I think mine was a dark charcoal...
