So this "deck" just lays in the bed like a bed liner? Looks good...

Re: 7DEETWO Gets a Show Deck

I love the show deck... I always wondered what one would look like in a 67-72 C/10, and now I know.

That looks sweet!

Here's a link for Bruce Horkey's Wood and Parts if you are interested.

Lays on top of the existing floor, fits like a glove.

Re: 7DEETWO Gets a Show Deck

What about beds that have been "rhino'd"? How much "play" is there in the fit from side-to-side and front-to-back?

I would think it would fit like a glove, but also think that there would be some tolerance.

By the way, your truck is clean....as we used to say back in the day.

Re: 7DEETWO Gets a Show Deck

Prior to varnishing and final install you dry fit the deck. At that point you can sand down the edges for that perfect fit. Remove the deck then varnish.

Re: 7DEETWO Gets a Show Deck

Looks awesome. How is it all held together?. Is this something that could be made by a do-it-yourselfer?. Do they sell the strips and planks seperately?

Re: 7DEETWO Gets a Show Deck

The wood strips are held to the six piece C Channel Sub frame, with the skid strips. I guess you could build on yourself. I think only an experienced wood craftsman could pull it off.

Re: 7DEETWO Gets a Show Deck

You don't notice just glancing at it that it's a deck, looks good.
I don't recall seeing your truck before, how'd I miss it? It's beautiful.

I was thinking maybe build your own c channel frame and just buy the planks and stainless strips.
