1997 454 Suburban, new catalytic converter with obdII

My exhaust on my 3/4 ton 1997 Suburban 7.2L, is a pieced together pile of junk. It has true duals from the manifolds back. Now one of Cat converters has a break in the pipe at the mount and it can't be welded anymore. Can I put on the cheaper "performance" cats you can get? Do I have to go with OEM stuff? Will the aftermarket cats do something with the OBDII sensors. I need to go talk to the exhaust guy but I want to just replace everything from the manifold back with new stuff and be done with it. By the way would this have come with true dual exhaust in the first place or is this already been changed to an aftermarket system?
