8 inch lift springs for my 72 Blazer

Wondering if anyone has used the 73 and newer front 8 inch lift springs on a 72 and older truck and what kind of mods you may have to do. I can see that the 73 sprins are a 1 1/2 longer and 2 1/2 inches wide all the way to the front and rear bushings were the 72 and older springs are 2 1/2 at the spring pad and 3 inches wide at the ends. I can get the 8 inch for 73 and up for half the price of the 72 and older. Saving $600.00 to do a little work is worth it to me but wanted to see if anyone else has done it first , because if there are any drawbacks I am not seeing Id like to know. Thanks
