Put a lift on, need some tires and wheels!

Hey guys, first time poster here with a few questions! I did a search for all this stuff but couldn't find a whole lot.

So I have a 94 K1500 GMC that I just put a 6" procomp lift on. I wasn't planning on lifting the truck because I already have an offroad truck, but happened upon the lift at the junkyard for $275 so I couldn't pass it up!!

Right now I have 265s on the stock wheels. They are real nice BFG AT's that were brand new this summer, oh well! Now for my questions...16" tires are way more pricey than 15's, so can I fit a 15" wheel on there or do I have to stay with 16's? Also, do you guys think I should go with 35s or 33's? Half of my buddies think 33's and the other half thinks 35's haha. I was thinking 35's but I don't want to mess with regearing on this truck so I was thinking performance-wise the 33's would be better.

Anyhow, thanks in advance and I'll post some pics tonight after I get the rear done

I`ve seen guys run 15" rallye wheels on a 6-lug `88-up trucks.I`m not sure what was involved. You need to watch the offset. With the IFS trucks you need little to no dish.I`d go with 35s with a 6" lift.I run 33s (255/85s) with just the torsion bars tweeked, about 2" lift.

Thanks for the reply...so does that mean zero offset? Wish I could find some more info on this.

Here are some before and after shots

Anybody else have some info on fitting 15" wheels on my truck? Thanks

Re: Put a lift on, need some tires and wheels!

8" rims will probably be alright.I`ve run 285/75x16s on 8" Welds and Americans with no problems on width.I did go to Bushwacker Extend-A-Fenders to get about another 1" coverage over the factory flares. But,that was a K3500.The 8-lug front ends are wider.
I`ve seen 15" wheels on an IFS truck. They may have neede to make some clearance on brakes.I`ve run 15" wheels on disc brake 3/4t trucks with a little grinding on the calipers.I think the rear would be fine.
How much will you save by going to 15"?

Re: Put a lift on, need some tires and wheels!

my uncles got a 6 in skyjacker lift on his 94 z71 hes runnin 35x13.50 DC's on a 16 by 10 AmR wheel.
ur still good on gearing with 35's alot of people say u hav to change em out but the truck's still as quick as it was before the makeover.
the only thing was that the front tires stuck out a bit..
i'd go with 35's myself they look pretty mean on ur style truck

I will probably save at least 100 bucks on the tires alone. My 265/75/R16's that are on there right now were 900ish with warranties, whereas the set of BFG 33x12.5x15's that are on my explorer were about 800 with warranties. I would definitely like to go with an 8" wide wheel, don't like the look of the 10 inchers. This metric crap is confusing as hell haha...You guys are helping steer me towards 35's tho!! What would be the equivalent size of a 35x12.5x16 in metric, 315 somethings? If someone knows off the top of their head that would be great, otherwise I will look it up.
