Power brake issue - No pedal return.

I know power brakes have been done to death, but I can't find my specific problem in a search.

So, I upgraded to power brakes. I left the front drums alone, I may upgrade to disks later, but it would cost more right now than the truck is worth. I just needed to get a new M/C, so i put a booster on budget consciously while I was at it.

To make a long story short, my pedal won't come back up. I get real good pressure, the truck stops better than it ever has, but when I let off the pedal it comes up 1/2 an inch (just enough to release the brakes) then stops. I have to pull it up with my tow to get the shoes completely off the drums, and to turn off the brake lights.

Any suggestions? I've bled them, I've adjusted the pushrod from the pedal to the booster, I've and repeated the process.

X2...sounds like the return spring may have come un-hooked.

Yeah, I wondered about that, too. Unfortunately, its not that easy. The spring is in place. I wonder if replacing it would cure my ills?

Re: Power brake issue - No pedal return.

I've seen it before- most likely an internal booster problem. Either it isn't completly exhausting the vaccum, or something is dragging inside- or a an internal check valve sticking....
