Cool pics! You can see some of the same design influences in both vehicles. I still say the one on the right (first few pics) is prettier,

good financing right now. I am having a hard time picking one up as well..... and it would be identical to yours. nice taste!

Re: Feels like driving an S10

nice pair of trucks you got there, but seeing them togather makes mewonder what the manufactures are thinking today. i don't understand why they sit so high and the bedsides are so high. unless your 61/2 feet tall you can't reach in and get anything out. don't they think people use them to haul stuff anymore? hell my buddy'sgot a 71 gmc with no tailgate that he leads his kid's pony up to and it just steps in. try that with a new truck

Manufacturers and buyers certainly seem to be of the opinion that bigger is better.

Just out of curiosity (as I wasnt around back then). Back in the 70's/80's were people driving around in the rediculously lifted monster trucks, similar to today's 8-10" lifted F-150 2wds? (always makes me crack up), even the 4wd's for that matter. Im just wondering if its a relatively new trend, and what they are trying to make up for (everyone knows you do it with your 1/4mi ET, anyway...)

The lifted 2wd thing is a pre-runner thing that has been popular for a while. Insanely popular in southern California (i would think AZ too) -- I dig 'em a lot, with maybe a 6" lift and some 35's --- anymore than that is just not functional unless your trails have some extreme ground clearance issues.

But yep -- people were heavy into lifted trucks with triple row light bars and plenty of KC lights back in the swingin 80's

I agree, the lifted truck "trend" here is AZ is pretty retarded, especially when 90% of them NEVER see dirt of any type. Most of the "pre-runner" type trucks out here are the same way, very few of them are used for what they're built for, some aren't even built but the owner's would swear there a trophy truck... I guess a spare tire in the bed and 33" BFG's doesn't classify a pre-runner!?!
I just don't understand why some of these clowns spend so much money on lift's tires suspension or whatever with no intention of using it for the built purpose..... Sorry for the rant!!

Re: Feels like driving an S10

Why were you specifically searching for a 4.8L? The cheaper price? The 5.3 gets the same fuel mileage with more power My 4x4 gets 18-19 highway (usually closer to 18)

My Z71 dwarfs the 67...

same reason others spend big coin to "lay frame" or "tuck 22's" or other mods with equally dubious practicality. There are also plenty of tubbed vehicles with 20" wide Mickey T's that would do well to run 13's, or early camaros with "Pro tour" suspension, but stock seats

all about the style points

4.8's are just a little cheaper... I was just mostly looking for 2wd and 20's
