Hatch handle and internals???

Hey Guys!!
I am trying to assemble my rear hatch for my Blazer and I cant find the piece that bolts to the handle that accepts the linkage rods. i can find handles for sale but I cant find any other parts. My hatch was so busted up i had to cut off the parts and dont know what they looked like (to fab my own) or how to get them?? Any ideas? Or anyone with some hatch parts they want to sell??

Thanks again!!!

Re: Hatch handle and internals???

Send the guy on ebay a message. He might have it. He's selling a bunch of stuff off the same Blazer...

Re: Hatch handle and internals???

Check this website - www.garagedoorsupply.com

Look for the "lock bar assembly" & "lock bar return spring"

With a little bit of work & about 20.00 you can have an easily replicated setup.

HTH,
Buddy

Yes!! That part is quite elusive. Discontinued in 1984. Does anyone know where to get that part? Or have one they want to sell?

Re: Hatch handle and internals???

Cool thread, I have a decent rear hatch. I will have to redo some internal hardware though, and am very interested in this area of k5 resto, anybody else? I have purchased new lock and key setups for everywhere on the k5 but the rear hatch. Any ideas?

Re: Hatch handle and internals???

The garage door handles are what you get when you buy the parts from a truck parts vendor. I paid a lot for the one from Brothers and still had to cut the shaft myself. Save some $ and get one from the link above... Do a search and you will probably find a specific part number that is perfect. BTW, when you reinstall the handle, use good grade allen head cap screws. The phillips head screws can be a pain to get out after a few years and if one breaks in there, it's a real pain. Don't ask me how I know...
