Factory Wiring Question

My truck radio wiring was hacked to pieces long before I got it. I'm trying to retrofit an 88 Cadillac 2 shaft stereo with integrated CB into my truck. The other wires are self explanatory but I'm having trouble understanding wires #4and #14 in the below pic. If wire #4 is for illumination then why do you need #14. If I hook #4 to the dash lights, isn't that the same, and won't it dim when I turn the dimmer switch? If not, then do I need to connect 4 to the parking light circuit and 14 to dash lights? Any input would be appreciated, and thanks in advance.

Jason

Re: Factory Wiring Question

Try just connecting wire #4 and not #14. See what happens.
