how do i get this as a ride height, not dumped height

ok i love the way this truck sits and i was wanting some input on how i could get this as a ride height(the way i would be driving not at a stand still) not afraid of fabrication dont want to loose alot of bed floor and i would like it to handle really well for a truck. this is my 67, 18's front 20x10's rear. thanks

here is the pics of the ride height

wow that truck is amazing. that looks like its a 4 -6 drop. you could do it with drop springs, droped spindles and a bolt in c-notch in the rear, dont have to cut the bed

Re: how do i get this a a ride height, not dumped height

That's a nice truck isn't it? It looks like it might be a little lower than 4-6... Maybe closer to 5-7 or even 6-7.

The back shouldn't be too much of a problem... Just a C-Notch, lowering blocks and lowering spring (or air bags) would do it. I don't think you would need to cut the bed. If you look at the pictures of the bed on the Fesler truck, it looks like he has maybe raised the floor just an inch or so.

As far as the front goes, the only problem I see is that the offset of the tire sits out a little too far for "driving". You probably wouldn't be able to turn the tires much without scrubbing the fenders. Drop spindles, drop springs (or air bags) and a wheel with more backspacing could accomplish that.

To give you a better idea, here is a picture of my truck at ride height. I have air bags though, so if the roads get a little rough or if I'm driving through a parking lot with monster speed bumps, I usually bring it up a bit.

That truck appears to have one of the Horkey show decks in it. That would still allow for a minimal amount of bed floor trimming.....but not much.

Re: how do i get this a a ride height, not dumped height

I think the key to acheiving that look is not only in height. There a a couple other things that come into play like wheel centering. It looks like the wheels-to-wheelwells centering is improved over stock. Also, the wheel backspacing/offset gives a nice deep dish but pushes the wheels further out. That truck is probably not gonna drive like that. You could get close to that look and be drivable there with a little more backspacing or reduced trackwidth plus some inner fender and rear tub modification.

Sorry to burst your bubble....that is not ride height. Check out the close up pic of the front wheel....Now see the headers hanging low to ground. If that is ride height those headers are going to get trashed.

Re: how do i get this as a ride height, not dumped height

im not to worried about the headers or exhaust i will be making them from scratch so they wont be any lower than the frame. i think that i will be z'ing the frame in the front and the rear to achieve what i want. i already have wheels so i will just make them fit.

if you have the ability to fabricate headers from scratch then you shouldn't have any problem getting the ride height you desire.

whats so funny about that car???

just kidding. i fabricate for a living but was just wondering if there is a bolt in way of doing it. its hard to find time to fabricate your own vehicle when doing it for others all the time.

Dropmember?

The Dropmember Rear kit for the 63-72 C-10 chassis will be available shortly as well.

It will give you the ride height you're looking for.

Dropmember rear being the new KP + Porterbuilt overly-awesome-engineering system, or the C4 back half?

Pics?

The Porterbuilt Dropmember Rear Kit will be ready to ship by the end of the month (it may be a week or so longer, depending when the order is placed. We have several pre-orders that will be shipping at the end of this month) ... I am waiting to post up pics until it's ready to ship, feel free to call or e-mail for specifics.
