Seattle's weather - give it 5 min it will change.

Last week we had a record high temp for the day of 78 degrees. A week later we are getting the latest snowfall we have ever had during a year. So far about 3".

I know this is not nearly as bad weather as some other places but I thought I would share.

Re: Seattle's weather - give it 5 min it will change.

I think alot of folks from other parts of the country think its amusing when we get "only" 3-5 inches of snow. Unless you've been to the Pacific NW people don't realize how incredibly hilly it is here. There are spots on I-5 I don't usually even consider to have much of a slope, but you put a thin coating of the white stuff down and its slip and slide country. Our snow down at this level is usually very wet and slippery.

I hope this has made folks from the Midwest feel sorry for us...

I just looked it up online. 481 inches at Crystal Mt Ski Resort this winter...so far. Thats 40 ft of snow. Yes they get a little more snow a few miles up the pass than we do

Re: Seattle's weather - give it 5 min it will change.

Weather in Missouri (where I'm originally from) is crazy....when I was home in January there were widespread thunderstorms and tornadoes. A few months later there were massive amounts of snow and ice dumped, then lots of flooding within the past few weeks. I experienced thunder snow a few times living there...and 70 degree days on New Year's Eve...not to mention large hail and wind. There were times when school was canceled for weeks due to snow and ice, or for a day or more because it was too cold or too hot. This part of Texas can't hold a candle (so far) to the craziness of the weather back home.

Hmmm. Snow on April 19th. Not bad, but kinda odd. Currently damp & cool in Seattle (10:10 am Sunday).
