Shock question.
Hey all.
I am running airbags on the rear with shock relocators. What is the right kind of shock to run. Can I run the standard shocks or do I need to go with a lowered shock? Wasn't there a post about sizes of different stock shocks that could be used instead of buying the aftermarket nitro, belltech and such shocks? I was working on the rear when and when I pulled the monroes I found out one of them is completely worn out. Can I just re-run what I had (monroes)? I am running the stock style monroes up front with drop spindle and 1" lowered springs. Is that okay? Shawn

With shock relocators, I "think" you will be ok with stock length shocks.

Stock shocks work fine w/the relocation brackets on mild drops (6" or less). They'll get close to the limits of their travel designs w/o the use of lowering blocks if the drop is greater than 6". My 68 swb trucks rear drop was ~8" & used:
Firestone bags bolted directly in place of coils 1.5" CPP lowering blocks Modified stock shock brackets (same as relocation kit) Bolt-in style CPP c-notch Adj CPP panhard bar Off the shelf Gabriel HD gas VST shocks F/R No problems in 5+yrs of the daily grind which included pulling a car trailer.
