200?!?!?! Wow man, looks like a great start. Couldn't ask to get more for that kind of money. Things in better shape than mine is and I got mine for 1500 What're your plans for the truck?

Re: newbie 70 C20 4x4 build
well I have a bunch of pictures to post but now I'm having trouble getting them up so I'll keep messing around and see what I can come up with. I just got it back from paint to give you guys an idea of how far along I am. As far as the plans for the truck here it goes, vortec craite motor with throttle body inj., 4L80E, NP205, corperate 10bolt & 14bolt diffs. I have all the drivetrain and it's all back in the truck now. I'm kind of going for the retro custom idea with the old school styling and modern running gear and a few body mods (very suttle, if you didnt know these trucks you would never notice them). Hopefully I can get the pics up pretty soon.

Re: newbie 70 C20 4x4 build
the new diffs, I had to relocate the spring and shock mounts on the rear the front was a direct bolt in. I rebuilt the rear spring pack because there was a broken spring eventually I want to get new springs and get rid of the blocks.

Re: newbie 70 C20 4x4 build
This particular set of mirrors are Ford mirrors, it has the logo on the back of them (very small). I actually have been working on the truck now for about 2 years and have a bunch of pictures but the site only lets me post 2 posts worth a day and I cant figure out how to put more than 5 pics per post P.M. sent MrBeast

Re: newbie 70 C20 4x4 build
test fitting the new motor, trans, and t-case so I can relocate the trans mount and torque arm. To get the 4L80E to work with the NP205 I used the Advanced Adapters kit and had to bore the t-case at the inputshaft to put a bigger beareing and different input shaft, luckily I had the equipment available at work. The trans is actually a 2 wheel drive trans with about 1 inch cut off of the outputshaft to get proper ingaugement. I wasnt awaire that you had to use a 2 wheel drive trans (lack of info on advanced adapters site) so I bought a 4 wheel drive trans and ended up tearing it down and replacing the outputshaft then had to trim it but all is good now.

Re: newbie 70 C20 4x4 build
that's what I would like to run some day, an overdrive auto trans mated to 205, that's a good set up.

Re: newbie 70 C20 4x4 build
If you use the 4L80E they sell stand alone controllers for it for $200-$300 depending on the unit you buy and the advanced adapters kit goes for around $600 if I remember correctly.
