Tow Hook pic/question

I found these about a week ago, and finaly got them cleaned up. I compared them to burnoutnova's tow hooks and they are identical, except mine bend the same direction. I know It was addressed in a previous thread, but I cant find it anywhere. Why are they bent the same direction? Early production, or later production? Drunk installer? Any input would be great.

I am going out on a limb here, but they could be bent in the same direction because they aren't both originally from the same truck? Our trucks are 40 years old things get swapped.

Re: Tow Hook pic/question

why are they 'bent' in the first place? Why do they cast them angled like that instead of straight? Anyone know?

Re: Tow Hook pic/question

You have two lefts or two rights. Can`t tell which because I`d have to think. The twist helps keep a chain on when pulling with a side angle. They twist inward.

Re: Tow Hook pic/question

Is this the link you're looking for?:
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=285316

And I believe mine are a set...not from two different trucks. Of course, I could be wrong. Actually, I don't even know if they were ever installed on a truck.

And if all these other posters bend to the right and mine bend to the left...hmmmm....maybe it's some ultra-rare option!! LOL!!

Re: Tow Hook pic/question

Thanks LooseScrews, I just couldn't find it. I nearly broke my back getting them off, I dont think they were swapped at anytime. I had to break the bolts with a breaker bar, and a four feet cheater bar on top of that; I had like six feet of bar just to get them off. It was so windy when I went, there was no chance of torching them off. Does anybody think this effects the value of them?

Re: Tow Hook pic/question

Maybe these are the inspiration to the extreme bend hooks. $7000 anyone? Just kidding. TTT
