1 more question bout lowering blocks

Lowering blocks: If I run a 2" spacer do I really need to run pinion angle shims? And if I machine the spacers out of aluminum myself, could I just cut the angle on them and not use an angle shim? If I do need to angle it, then what angle should I use for a 2" block? Anybody had any problems out of running a 2" block with no angle shims (u-joints or vibrations or anything)? I'd really rather not bother making an extra cut if I really don't need it. How important is the angle and what should it be for a 2" block?

I just used a piece of 2" square 1/4" wall tubing on the white truck and haven't had any problems... 454/th400 combo.
