Thumbs up Had to bust a U-Turn on this one!

I went to a gym down here in NM today and saw this on my way back. I had no choice as a self respecting chevy truck fan but to flip a Uie and check it out. I only had my phone with me, but I know the rules here; any pics are better than no pics. Turned out he had quite a little collection behind the shop, some of which are for sale. The shop is called "Big Time 4x4" in Rio Rancho NM. Check it out:

Looks good, and looks like he's going to turn out a few more projects here pretty soon.

The cad motors generally get better MPG than the chevy engines do.

I didn't even think Caddy when he said it was a 472. I was thinking bored 454. But you're right. May have been!

Re: Had to bust a U-Turn on this one!

I asked the guy what it was yesterday and he said it's a bored/stroked 454. I don't know of any standard bore/stroke that would make a 454 into a 472. A standard 4" stroke plus 0.90" bore will net a 473. Maybe he meant 482 with a stock 4.25" bore and a 4.25" stroker crank... Either way, it's not a caddy.

It's on Southern Blvd, West of Golf Course road on the South side of the road before you get to Unser Blvd.

Yep, doin the NM thing for another few weeks. As far as using ideas goes, I think anything posted online is pretty much free game unless copyrighted or otherwise protected. But I appreciate the courtesy. Go for it!

Frizzle Fry,

Since you are only here for a couple more weeks they are having a swap meet on Sunday the 4th at the University of NM tailgate parking lot east of the football stadium. Maybe you can swing by and check it out before you have to head out?

How late does it usually run? I fly in at about 1:00 PM on Sundays. Gonna try to hit the tail end of Int Auto Show with Hart_Rod today.
