Pinion Angle

Does anyone know about correcting the pinion angle an a 69' truck lowered 4" in the rear with just 4" drop coils and lowered shocks? Do I even need to worry about it since it's only going to be lowered 4"?

Re: Pinion Angle

I've got 2.5" up front and 4" drop coils in the rear, I even heated them a little more and I would'nt worry about the pinion angle. There aren't any issues that you'll run into except for the carrier bearing will fail, at that point I would switch to a one piece drive line. That's what I had to do.

Re: Pinion Angle

The guys at Early Classic told me once before that you can go up to a 6" drop on a truck with a coil spring rear before pinion angle becomes a concern....

Re: Pinion Angle

Yeah... 6" sounds about right. I always figured if I went far enough to require a c-notch then I would mess with the rear end...
