Front Window install
So I have a new window seal and a new window. I can't seem to be able to get the window in? Can someone tell me the steps on installing a front window in a 71 GMC? I have even enlisted a pro window guy and he can't get it in either.

you talkin about the windshield?? if so its gonna take 2 people prolly to install it. you need a windshield "rope" to install them

haven't done it yet but I do remember seeing guys use a lot of dish soap and rope to assist with getting the seal in...

I just did mine two weeks ago. The rope around the weather stripping trick works great. I did it alone in about 2 hours.

If you have the one with the stainless steel in it they are extremely hard. The glass shop did mine three times and it still has some wrinkles in the rubber. They claim they will go away as the new rubber shrinks.

Top with the square corners goes in first, it can be done the other way but you will stretch the pi## out of the rubber. Top in first, then do the rope thing.

I used parachute cord for installing mine, and LOTS of dish soap. Slick trick, hahahaha. Good luck, you'll get it done.

I had to do bodywork around the opening and I wonder if I have made it to small? I didn't think so at the time but now I worry! I am going to try and make a template out of cardboard and see if it is a size thing!
