Need some info 50 Chev 1420
Just picked up a 1950(I was told) Chev, 5 window, 1420. I think it is a 1.5 ton. Is that correct?
How does that compare to a 1 ton.... Is the hood the same size? Cab? Front fenders? Any info would be helpfull

i'm not positive, but i think the 1.5+ ton stuff is bigger. 1-tons are the same as the half as far as sheetmetal (bed is longer though)

Re: Need some info 50 Chev 1420
It's fresh out of a field right now so it's not pretty enough to post.
Possibly just an assembly of parts that I have already started to take apart. I want to chop it and make an extended cab. Flat black. Put in a diesel for pulling a 5th wheel trailer. My 72 blazer works alright in the prairies with the heavy bumper pull trailer but I want some more power in the mountains and a 5th wheel. I just need to know more about the body sheet metal and how it differs from 1/2 tons and 1 tons. I am thinking I need something like this truck.... but not as shinny, not as low and a little heavier duty for pulling.
