79 Chevy 4x4 builder, AZ
No drivetrain. It a 3/4 ton chassis with 1/2t axles (12b rear/Dana 44 front). Has Rancho front lift springs (not sure how much of a lift) dual tanks and A/C. Body is fair, grill and hood are excellent. The door panels are great, but the seat needs re-covering. The passenger side door is dented. Let me know if you need more pictures. I might part it out also.
Edit: Priced to $500.00 with the 12 bolt/dana 44 and 15x10" wheels with 33" tires. I REALLY need to get it moved Will consider partial/whole trades for a welder, plasma cutter, or ? Lot's 'o pictures. These are with the 3/4t axles (not the 1/2t): Side view Hood Interior Pass side Tailgate and rear bumper Last edited by Erich_in_AZ; 11-19-2002 at 04:40 PM. |

It looks like it was a V8 with an automatic. If I had to guess it was a TH350/NP203 combo, but I'm not sure. It still has the A/C compressor hooked up and in the driver compartment, and my buddy said it still had pressure.
I bought the truck strictly for the axles. I'm building a rockcrawler so I wanted the 8 lug stuff. The rear was a 14bolt full floater, so if/when I snap an axle, I'm not stuck. The c-clip axles like 10 bolts/ 12 bolts and semi floater 14 bolts won't hold the tire in when the axle breaks like a floater will. The axles that are in it are from a buddies house. The truck is missing the engine/tranny and tcase as mentioned before. It's also missing the steering box, but I might be able to find one of those. I can't make any promises though. I should be able to round up a radiator also. I think the rear driveshaft is there, but I'm not sure. I was toying with the idea of finding a tranny/case and gettting it running, but I really have too many things going on right now. If you keep your eyes open, you can find a tranny for around $100.00, and a 208 or 203 tcase for about $150.00. That just leaves the engine. I might actually clean it out tomorrow, so I'll see what all is there. Are there any things in particular you would like to see pictures of? |

are the axles in it any good or are they needing rebuilt?
is the frame cracked or anything like that? will a steering box from a 2WD truck work for a 4x4? how are they tires on it and what size are they? do you know the gear ratio of the axles? other than needing a paint job what kind of shape is the body in? how does the interior look w/o all of that stuff laying in it? as far as the pics i would like to see pics of the inside, outside, inside of bed,and whatever else you can scrape up-cleaned out of course lol.

I can't take the truck but if you're willing to sell the door panels I'd be interested. Also how is the dash?

As far as I know the axles are good, but I have no idea what the ratio is.
I didn't see any cracks on the frame. I don't think the 2wd box will fit. The tires are 33's and probably about 60% worn. The overall shape of the body is 'fair' other than the passenger door. The bed rail on the pass side is bent down on the rail an inch or 2, but I think that should fixable with a jack. The driver side door looks ok, except for a hole where the mirror screw pulled out. You can see that in the 1st picture below the arm for the mirror. I think the pass side fender is wrinkled a bit from tire contact at the back part (You can see it in the picture a little bit as well). The front grill, bumper and grill guard are in great shape including the stainless headlight trim, etc. The hood has some dings at the front on the flat part of the raised lip in the middle, but it not creased in the usual spots that fold up from the hood springs. I haven't touched the interior. It looks like all of the A/C ducts are sitting on the floor on the passenger side, and the glove box is there on the seat. I do know that it's missing the plastic bezel, but the dual tank switch is in the dash. They truck goes in the paper saturday morning. I had to place the ad today or wait another week. I honestly I don't want to invest a whole bunch of time cleaning this thing out to get $500.00 for a truck sitting on $300.00 worth of axles. I bought it for the axles and I really don't have a lot of time to put in to it right now. Are you gonna be in the area anytime soon? Thanks, Erich |
