Cab question?
Does anyone have an idea how much the cab weighs ( 69' C10) by itslef with everything out of it? I have a 2 ton engine hoist and want to make sure that I can lift the cab off the frame without breaking anything. The hoist says that it can only support 1/2 ton when fully extended, then 1 ton when 3/4 of the way extended and so on.

I don't know the exact weight, but it's definitely WAY under 1/2 ton.

I kinda had the same question...Is the cherry picker the best way to lift the cab off?

id agree with LHM...i put mine on my dolly by myself....well...me and the cherry picker...lol.....want bad....just awkward weight,imo....two guys could get it done.........

Four people picked mine off and set it on a dolly. I put it back on by myself with a engine hoist fully extended. Put the hoist in through the door and had no problem picking it up.

I bet its a little under 500lbs stripped with no doors. The front firwall area is heavier so be aware that the Center of Gravity is forward....
four of us pulled mine off as well...
