465 and a 205?
I have an SM465 from a 72 2WD GMC. What does it take to mount up a 205 Transfer case and where can I get it? Don't currently have a 205, so if there's a specfic version Is hould look for.

you need a transfer case adapter and the coupling that goes inside it. You also need to replace the main shaft of the 2wd sm465 with a 10 spline output shaft. The 2wd version has a different output shaft, 32 spline I think.

Just look for a complete 465/205 setup, it will be easier than tearing apart the tranny you currently have to replace the mainshaft.
