Need help with daily driver

I've got sudden trouble on the daily driver. Recently, my 350 runs fine for a couple minutes then caughs and sputters, then randomly pounds around for a second and dies. Recent rebuild. I think it could be bad gas. I've got a new carb, gas filter, rotor & cap, plugs & wires. I just set the timing this morning.

I am out of ideas. I would appreciate any help I can get.

Does the choke release though? Could still be a bad element or no power to the choke.

Main thing though, make sure its opening (choke plate)

Long knight,
Have you checked the ignition? Check the coil, points if it has them, and the condenser. These parts go bad just sitting around.
On bad gas, pull the gas line where it runs into the fuel pump and catch it in a jar to get a look at it. Does it have water or rust?

Check the fuel filter at the carb for rust also.

Thats all I can think of right now, Good Luck,

Thanks for all the input. However, I now have extensive tranny problems. Does it ever end? Probibly not, but thats what makes you appreciate your truck more...you spend a lot of time with it.
