Good Idea?

I thought I had a good idea... let me see what ya'll think.

I'm headed from Home here in NC to Washington this summer for my job, I'll be there for 5 weeks and then will return back to NC. My idea was this: Why don't I drive my Jimmy across country and back (and probably have to get an operation to fix my A$$ when I get back) and ask the Chevy GMC advertising folks to help pay for my trip(gas mostly). I said they could put advertising all over my truck if they wanted and do anything they wanted to publicize it.

So here's what happened... I got on the GMC website and told them of my idea and just asked for the mailing address of their advertising executive. I got a response that said they didn't accept outside advertising ideas, then I finally got an address and sent them a letter and pictures of my truck and got no response.

I was hoping to at least get a response-even if it was a "no", but I didn't get squat. I'm considering driving it anyway but will need to prep it for the trip.

You'll never have any luck aproaching them direct, you must have a inside connection. You have to sell the idea to someone lower on the totum pole. The big boys don't have time to deal with us peaons.

It sucks but they want to make as much money possible with as few people involved as possible. Sucks but its the facts.
