good deal?
i found this truck for sale...the guy seems to think its in worse shape than it is, because he is asking 700obo. the body is solid it just has a few dents and needs paint...badly, but it runs great with the factory 305 4bbl long tube headers, true duals, 33's(in need of replacement). has dented bedsides (tree limb fell on top) the front bumper, bezels, lights, and anything else i missed are in the truck, or the back body....also comes with a set of spare long tubes and brand new reducers
its an 81 gmc 4x4 |

Re: good deal?
I get 10 to 12 and am 2wd but have a slightly different set up.
Not to bad for an ME truck Looks like it has been beat on pretty good and a bit of bondo but all and all A nice project. Daily driver? Restore? driver/offroader? Looking at it are you into offroading? ( I am always looking for trails I know of some down in Sanford but now can't remember)

Re: good deal?
it is very solid....not as much bondo as it looks, i knocked around a little and its mostly metal. daily driver hopefully...but i plan on playing on some trails with it...why not haha...i know my fair share of trails up here, and the ones i dont know, i probably will soon. it has been beat but for the price....what hasn't? wish me luck on selling my s-10, as that is the only thing between me and buying this truck

Re: good deal?
My 87 1 ton gets 10 at best while driving in 2wd and the lockouts not engaged. It's fuel injected 350, TH400, NP205, D60 front, 14 bolt rear. No idea what gear ratio is in there. It has LT tires about the same size as 31's would be if side by side, but I'm planning on throwing a set of 33's on her maybe this weekend, depending on what lug nuts are going to cost. I'm kinda strapped for cash right now due to my daughter's cell phone bill.

Re: good deal?
yeah sure does not look to bad. Still I would keep up on cregs list. Here in NH people are giving these trucks away for a song because of the gas prices. I have seen some pretty stout 4x4 at most K20's (not 1 tons) going for under 1,000.

Re: good deal?
If you just want a work horse or something to off-road in, thats a good deal. More function over form.

Re: good deal?
I'm running 31's with the stock 4bbl carb on a 350 with headers and a free flow and I'm lucky to get 10 city and I don't want to talk about hwy. Luckily I only dive 3miles to work every day.

Re: good deal?
bought it yesterday for 520. came with the bezels and everything rides great, needs a tuneup....that 305 does good to hit 55 with the 33's on it....pluges, wires, performer intake, performer carb, and a breather are coming real soon i guess

Re: good deal?
Glad you got it. I'd take it for that price too if I were you. Now you need those American Racings and brand new mud tires I have listed in the misc for sale section....
