poly tank fuel sending unit question

i have installed the poly tank underbed and hooked up the tan wire to the sending unit. put 10 gallons of gas in ,the guage reads 1/2, wich sould be right.but when i turn off the key the guage goes to the full position ? i thought it should go to the empty position like my other cars ?

the sending unit does have a ground wire attached to it,and i do have it grounded to the frame. that's what's confusing me

Re: poly tank fuel sending unit question

Is it a 20 gal tank? Do the Ohm's on the sending unit match the ohms for the gauge?

yea it's a 20 gallon tank, the sending unit came with the tank as a kit. i'll have to borrow an ohm meter to check it

I don't remember the ohms for the stock gauge, but I'm willing to bet they are different than the sending unit that came in the tank. Sorry man, I can't remember the ohm difference's.
