Hotwheel version of my '62...
I got pretty excited when I found out Hot Wheels started making 62 Chevy trucks. I've been buying them wherever I see them now. I have a few of them. So (got the idea from a fellow member) I decided to blow one apart and make it look like my truck. I drilled out the rivets, and my girl sanded it and I painted it. I robbed the wheels off of another hot wheel type car that had white walls and smoothies... Too much time on my hands, I know! But I had a blast doint it...Enjoy!!! (these pics are a bit fuzzy, better pics are below)

Re: Hotwheel version of my '62...
VERY NICE - and the wife thinks I'M obsessing about MY truck.
Funny, I was just mentioning to someone the other day how hard it was to remove the wheels from a Hot Wheels vehicle… certainly less fun than whacking my brother with the orange tracks. |

Re: Hotwheel version of my '62...
Thanks, salazar 44. Yeah, the pics are a bit fuzzy. I need a camera with manual focus. Our camera has auto focus and it isn't focusing on the truck, just whatever's in the background.
I agree with you Steverino, the chassis and wheels were a pain to get off!

Re: Hotwheel version of my '62...
i bought a couple at this place in the montebello town center... off the 60. I will take a pic and post it later. The only thing is that a hot wheel is a hot wheel! mine is a no-name model.

Re: Hotwheel version of my '62...
I have like six of the hot wheels version of the 62. I also have about 4 Johnny Lightning 65's. That's my next mini project. I'm gonna make a mini replica of my lady's 65 out of one of those....

Re: Hotwheel version of my '62...
I have not seen any 60's chevy truck hot wheels around here. But then again I really have not been looking.

Re: Hotwheel version of my '62...
cool man, but you need not drive that thing so fast, I think your surf board must have blown out
I finally found a couple of these hot wheels this past Monday at a Loves truck stop by my work, gave them to my sons, they love 'em

Re: Hotwheel version of my '62...
Thanks everyone! It was a fun little project. Actually, it looks better in person. On these huge pictures you can see all the things I missed and the crooked paint lines you can't see in person. Oh well.... It's still cool. My buddy gave me an idea...I'm going to drill a hole through it and use on for my air cleaner wing nut. If it don't work, I'll make another...
