Know anything about Cadillac rearends?

I've been looking for a rearend for my 57 and haven't had a lot of luck so far. Turns out my father-in-law has two dead Cadillacs at his place. One is an 83, the other an 89. I'm pretty sure Cadillac used GM 10-bolts and some had discs on the rear, but I don't what years. I also do know how wide either of them are until this weekend when I can get out there and take a look. The 83 is a pretty big car, so I doubt it'd be to narrow, but to wide is a possibility I suppose. It's not the TA or Camaro rear I've been trying to find, but free parts is free parts. I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about them and was willing to share. I'm also curious to see what transmissions are in them. Free parts make me smile.
