Re: 6 lug trailer ????

Most trailers are built with f*#d hubs. Chevy 6 lugs will not fit because F*#d wheels have a larger hole in the middle. But you can run the F*#d 6 hole rim on a chevy.

Thanks Joeys toy, very cool of you to reply. I have a factory 5 hole ford wheel on mine. Looks cool with the ralley fat 3 inch rings, fit right on the 15 inch wheels.

Re: 6 lug trailer ????

I have a Hardeebuilt car trailer and they actually have 5 on a 4 3/4 Chevy car or S-10 pattern wheels on it, so not all have the F*rd hubs. I've never seen a 6 lug trailer, but I have seen a lot of 8 lug trailers though they usually HD unit.

Re: 6 lug trailer ????

they do make chevy hubbed trailer axles.. our cattle trailer's original axles had stock 15x6 chevy wheels on it. it now has new axles, which had the 6x5.5 lug pattern, but the hub center was bigger. we just cut off a lip on the wheels, but the trailer place said it was a special trailer sized hub

heres the trailer: the front wheel is a modified chevy wheel, the rear is an actual trailer wheel

Re: 6 lug trailer ????

the number of lugs on a trailer axle depend on the gross wieght of the axle.3500#=5 lug,5600#=6lug,7000# and up =8 lug.the older trailers had many bolt patterns but the more modern trailers with dexter axles i have seen, have a gm bolt pattern.

Re: 6 lug trailer ????

I have built a number of traillers over the years. When It comes time to order the axles, I would specify what ever bolt pattern the customer wanted. and length of axle for wheel offset.
