98 chevy Brake problem
I am building a 98 Z71. I just started driving it and noticed that the brakes mess up just before you are stopped or if you are going really slow. It is like the anti-lock kicks in and the pedal goes to the floor. I thought maybe the master cylinder was bad but a dealer told me that the front bearings have sensors for the abs that go bad when the truck gets some mileage on it. And that the bearings and sensors is one piece. My truck has 93k on it. Has anyone else had this problem? any advice??

Re: 98 chevy Brake problem
If the dealer were correct about the front sensors, then disconnecting one of the sensors should make the problem go away. Although it would replace that problem with another problem but the code the unplugged sensor would throw would be a soft code.

Re: 98 chevy Brake problem
well I pulled the abs fuse out today. the problem totally went away but the abs light stays on. so I guess what the dealer says is the problem but I hate to spend that much money on fixing them.
