I'm adding a little 4 circuit fuse panel to my truck. I'm going to have fuses for my
tach/guages, HEI, stereo, when I get one, and air conditioning when I get around to it. What size fuses should I be using for these items?

Re: Quick fuse question
your stereo and AC should come with the recommended fuse size.

Re: Quick fuse question
the fuse is meant to protect the wiring so it would depend on the wire size as well as the accessory

Re: Quick fuse question
I guess 10 for the gauges and HEI. The stereo and AC should come with the necessary fuses and harness. Just connect to a ignition controlled power source. My AC unit has a wire directly from the blower to the + terminal on my starter. This wire also has an inline fuse. I believe this is a common pratice.

Re: Quick fuse question
Thanks for the replys. You don't think 10 amps is a little much? I was thinking 5 amps for HEI, and 5 amps for the gauges...

Re: Quick fuse question
I used 3 or 5 amp fuses for my gauges. Definitely don't want too much fuse and risk damaging a gauge.
Seems like my HEI fuse is a bit higher than 10 amp, but I better let someone else respond regarding that. I do believe the HEI fuse size is addressed in the FAQ HEI thread.
