clutch?

I am at the point in my build where i need to make a decision on a clutch. i am running 3 speed saginaw behind a 350. My original clutch was very hard on my leg. I was wondering if there is a manual clutch setup that is designed to be easier on the driver?

Re: clutch?

I think late models have hydraulic clutchs, you maybe interested to adapt one to your truck...

Mine is not that hard..

Good luck

Re: clutch?

You have two choices for a manual linkage clutch. You can either use a diaphragm cover, or you can get a regular cover made custom to your needs. The diaphragm , any auto parts store should be able to get. It will be easier to push than a typical finger style. The custom cover it takes a clutch shop that knows what they are doing! If you were in k.c. I would send you to Casper brake and clutch. They Are GOOD! What ever you need they can build!

Re: clutch?

89C has it right. Be shure to use a diaphram style clutch. Do not get a reman. You never know what you are going to get. I get the complete clutch kit new from Carquest & they have a great, smooth , soft feel to them

Re: clutch?

And lube everything including the peddle shaft,"Z-bar" etc. Also switch to a lighter return spring.

Re: clutch?

I think I got mine from OSH. If I recall, they had a very nice selection of springs there.
